One big basket, six functions and a Max Crisp setting that gets closer to deep-fried than most. A strong pick if you want space without a second drawer.

✓ What we liked
  • 6.5-quart basket handles a whole chicken or a big batch of chips
  • Max Crisp gets food genuinely crunchy
  • Reaches 450°F for faster browning
✗ Worth noting
  • Single basket means one food at a time
  • Tall shape is better on an open shelf

How it tested

We ran the same battery of tests we use on every air fryer, from frozen chips to fresh wings and roast veg. Here is how it scored on each.

Crispiness — 9.0

Max Crisp lived up to the name. Frozen chips came out crunchy in under twenty minutes and wings had a proper snap.

Crispy food fresh from the air fryer

Evenness — 8.5

Good colour across a full basket, with a shake halfway keeping the edges level with the middle.

Ease of use & cleanup — 8.6

The basket and plate are nonstick and dishwasher safe. Presets cover the everyday jobs so you are not fiddling with dials.

Noise — 7.8

A firm fan hum on Max Crisp that eases off at lower settings.

Design & build

A tall grey tower that holds a lot for its width. The drawer pulls out smoothly and the plate clicks in without fuss.

Who it’s for

✓ Buy it if…
  • You want big capacity in one basket
  • You batch cook chips, wings and roasts
✗ Look elsewhere if…
  • You want two foods cooked two ways
  • You have a low cupboard above the counter

Our verdict

For a single-basket fryer this is hard to fault. The 6.5-quart size covers most family jobs and Max Crisp gives it an edge on texture.

If cooking two foods together matters to you, a DualZone model is the better shape. For everyone else, this does the core job brilliantly for the money.

How it compares

It holds more than the 5-quart AF141 and crisps a shade harder thanks to the higher top temperature. A DualZone trades some of that simplicity for two separate zones.

Frequently asked

Will a whole chicken fit?

Yes. A small to medium whole chicken fits the 6.5-quart basket.

What is Max Crisp?

A high-heat setting that blasts frozen and fresh food for extra crunch.

AirFryer Ovens test kitchen · Bought at retail, never supplied by the brand

Every oven runs the same five stages: preheat timing, a frozen chip crispiness run, a full tray evenness test, a full load cook, then noise, energy and cleanup. Scores carry the same weighting on every model, so commission never moves a ranking.

Swapped from a smaller one and never looking back. Great value.

Max Crisp on frozen chips is unreal. Crunchy every time.

Loads of room for the family. It is tall so mind your overhead cupboards.
