- 4 thick slices day-old bread
- 2 eggs
- 100ml milk
- 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp vanilla
- Butter, berries and maple syrup to serve
Method
- Whisk. Beat the eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla in a shallow dish.
- Soak. Dip each slice for 20 seconds a side. No longer or it falls apart.
- Air fry. Cook at 360°F for 10 minutes, turning once, until golden.
- Serve. Butter, berries and syrup.
Test-kitchen tip
Day-old bread only, and count the soak. Twenty seconds a side is plenty.
