Garlic butter prawns

Garlic butter prawns

Eight minutes from fridge to plate, and the garlic butter never catches or burns.

Prawns go from perfect to rubbery in about a minute, so this is one to watch. The gentle, even heat of an air fryer is more forgiving than a hot pan, but not by much.

Ingredients

Serves 2 · tap to check off

  • 300g raw king prawns, peeled
  • 30g butter, melted
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Handful parsley, chopped
  • Lemon and chilli flakes to finish

Method

  1. Mix. Toss the prawns with the melted butter and garlic until well coated.
  2. Air fry. Cook at 380°F for 8 minutes, shaking once, until pink and opaque.
  3. Finish. Toss through the parsley, a squeeze of lemon and chilli flakes.
  4. Serve. Serve straight away with bread for the butter.
Test-kitchen tip

Pull them the moment they turn opaque. Prawns keep cooking in their own heat for a minute after.

Simple and it delivers. I upped the seasoning a touch.
