Air fryer garlic green beans

Green beans

Blistered, snappy beans in nine minutes, with garlic that never burns.

Green beans want a quick, hot blast so they blister but keep their snap. Anything longer and they go khaki and limp.

  • 400g green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced
  • Flaked almonds, optional
  • Salt and lemon

Method

  1. Coat. Toss the beans with the oil and salt.
  2. Air fry. Cook at 390°F for 6 minutes.
  3. Add garlic. Add the garlic and almonds and cook 3 minutes more.
  4. Finish. Squeeze over lemon and serve.
Test-kitchen tip

Garlic goes in for the last 3 minutes only. Any earlier and it is bitter by the time the beans are done.
