Evenly crisp rashers with no spitting pan and no bacon-scented kitchen for two days.

Method
- Prep. Add the water to the drawer under the crisper plate to catch the fat.
- Lay out. Arrange the rashers in a single layer, slightly overlapping is fine as they shrink.

Test-kitchen tip
The splash of water in the drawer is the anti-smoke trick. Without it, rendering bacon fat hits the element and burns.
