Tinned biscuit dough is the shortcut that works. It puffs beautifully in dry heat and gives you the fairground doughnut texture without the yeast and waiting.

Ingredients

- 1 tin refrigerated biscuit dough
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 60g caster sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Method
- Shape. Separate the dough and punch a hole through each middle with a bottle cap.
- Air fry. Cook at 350°F for 8 minutes, turning once, until puffed and golden.
- Butter. Brush all over with melted butter the moment they come out.
- Coat. Toss straight into the cinnamon sugar.

Butter then sugar, immediately. Let them cool even a minute and nothing sticks.
